I know I haven’t updated this blog for about 3 months now but I have been working on a major project in aid of Cancer Research UK and now I am finally ready to show it off.
Surely you already know how a balloon race works, well we are doing just that, and 40% of all entry money is going to be donated to Cancer Research UK.
It is now less than 2 weeks before the opening of the world’s biggest outdoor house music festival. Celebrating it’s 10th anniversary, Creamfields is offering 60′000 clubbers the biggest and most amazing line-up I have ever seen, in the music world. With 9 tents/stages, including the Swedish House Mafia, Cream, Subliminal, Tidy, Radio1 and Chibuku just to name a few, this is set to be an unforgettable and very messy weekend.
Wow, another successful night with “the beach” at the Mersey Clipper in Prenton, who host this sensational band on the first saturday of every month.
When I was invited to go and see them again, I knew what to expect from the previous gig, but I was still blown away by the way they put their own twist in to the songs and can entertain this very busy pub with some great crowd interaction. They also have a huge fan base.
Katy Perry [born Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson on October 25th 1984 in Santa Barbara, California] is an American singer-songwriter and occasional actress. She is most notable for her singles, ‘Ur So Gay’, released in 2007, and the Billboard Hot 100 No.1 hit, ‘I Kissed A Girl’, which was released in 2008. She also was in the music video ‘Cupid’s Chokehold’ by Gym Class Heroes.
Perry, born the middle child of two pastors, she grew up listening to gospel music and singing in church. After Steve Thomas and Jennifer Knapp signed Perry to their label, Red Hill Records, she released her first CD, Katy Hudson [2001], a Christian gospel album.
The band that played the first (and last) notes at the first-ever Glastonbury Festival in 1970. The (reconstructed) birthplace of the world’s Greatest Ever Band. Had to be a match made in heaven, surely? And Stackridge are the band with Something About The Beatles in their repertoire, after all…
I know this post is a couple of weeks later but I have been trying to gather a few different reviews from people who attended this great event this year which you can see below.
The Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts, commonly abbreviated to Glastonbury or Glasto, is the largest music and performing arts festival in the world. The festival is best known for its contemporary music, but also features dance, comedy, theatre, circus, cabaret and many other arts. Glastonbury was heavily influenced by hippie ethics and the free festival movement in the 1970s, especially the Isle of Wight Festival.
The Australian Pink Floyd Show (aka TAPFS) are a tribute band of Pink Floyd. Formed in 1988 in Adelaide, South Australia, their performances are styled after Pink Floyd shows and perform international arena tours.
Their recent shows include not only music originally written by Pink Floyd, but also a psychedelic lightshow modelled after the lightshows used by Pink Floyd during their 1987 and 1994 world tours. During each 2½ hour concert, movies and animations are displayed on the screen while lights and lasers turn the stage and auditorium into a swirling mass of colour. Inflatables such as the pig used by Pink Floyd during the 1994 Division Bell tour and the band’s own giant pink kangaroo are also used.
In my opinion, one of the greatest and most popular bands on the Wirral, Insanity Beach have played at a great number of venues. When I saw them recently, they played an amazing set including a 10 minute long compilation of songs recognisable by all. After the gig, I introduced myself to Ian (Vocals/Guitar) who seemed keen on a nice feature here.
Well what a night this was. The opening party of Club Trinity, held in Future Nightclub, Kavos Strip and hosted by Ratpack, Jaydee and kicked off by DJ Tango and his vocalist.
Trinity do such a good job of decorating the club that it is just unrecognisable from a normal club night. There were inflatables everywere and was also organised so well with 1 queue outside for normal ticket holders, and another for VIP ticket holders. And then there is me who just got ushered straight through the middle and in the doors. Cheers for that James.

At long last, Volume 02. I was actually just making a mix for myself to throw on the mp3 player as I am off to Kavos on Friday and want something funky for round the pool but after listening back, decided to share.
This mix is full of great summer classics including Solu Music & the great Ian Carey which bring back some great memories for me and I am sure they will do for you too.
Hopefully Volume 03 will come shortly after my fortnight away so you won’t be waiting too long.
